Music

tss-clapping.jpgShabbat B'Simcha

On the first Friday of the month, Cantor Becky Khitrik often leads a band of musicians in a special family service called Shabbat B'Simcha (Shabbat with joy). In the past, musicians have played the flute, electric guitar, bass, saxophone, violin, and drums. Join us for this lively service!

Rachel Gusman Music Fund

In 1980, Jack Gusman created a special music fund to honor the memory of his wife, Rachel (Rita) Gusman, who was a singer-entertainer, and to share and encourage the creative process which was so much a part of her life. Over the years, the fund has provided varied and exciting musical experiences for the congregation and community. Supported primarily by the Gusman family for more than twenty years, the fund is now supported by contributions from temple members and friends.

Choir

The Temple Sinai Adult Choir is a volunteer choir open to all and sings during the High Holiday services and in numerous Friday night services throughout the year. In addition to services, the choir has offered full-length concerts featuring many different types of Jewish music and has proudly represented Temple Sinai in many community festivals, collaborations, and local events. The Adult Choir numbers around 25 singers, is non-auditioned, and meets on Tuesday nights for rehearsals.  For more information on how to get involved, contact our Choir Director, Cantor Becky Khitrik.

Concerts

Temple Sinai has had the privilege of hosting many musicians, on the bimah, in our social hall, or even transforming our lobby into a coffeehouse atmosphere. Past musicians have included: Dan Nichols, Peri Smilow, the Joshua Nelson Project, Sue Horowitz, Rabbi Larry Milder, Rabbi Joe Black, Rabbi David Paskin, and Cantor Klepper's own duo with Rabbi Dan Freelander: Kol B'Seder.
