About the Gusman Music Fund at Temple Sinai
The Gusman Music Fund Was founded more than 20 years ago by the Gusman family to honor the memory of musician and performer Rachel “Rita” Gusman. Rachel was a singer-entertainer who performed throughout the Americas and Israel where she lived for several years. During the Yom Kippur War, she entertained at Israeli army bases and hospitals. Rachel was also the featured singer at the Plaza Hotel in Tel Aviv. Her repertoire included popular, fold, and theater music, and she sang in Hebrew, Yiddish, French, Greek Russian, Portuguese, and Ladino, as well as English. Over the years, the Gusman Music Fund has supported annual concerts as well as musical services at Temple Sinai featuring the best of Jewish music within a liturgical setting. Today, the Gusman Music Fund is supported entirely by donations from the community. Your donation is welcome and will help continue Temple Sinai’s long tradition of bringing innovative Jewish music to the Sharon community.
