POSTPONED - Marshall Lecture with Guest Speaker Erez Geller of the MDA on Friday, October 27 at 7:30 PM

*The timing of this event has changed due to recent events. Donations to AFMDA are welcome to help support emergency response in Israel at afmda.org.

Erez Geller, is an MDA Paramedic and Director for the Carmel region. He began working for MDA as a volunteer in 1991. From 1994 to 1997 he completed his military service in the IDF as an instructor in the intensive care and surgery units. After completing his army service he started working for MDA as an instructor, EMT, and dispatcher. By 2005,he had ascended the ranks to become the Carmel region’s paramedic supervisor.

In this role, Erez has helped Israel through some of its most dire crises, from the rocket attacks on the north during the 2006 Lebanon War to the 2010 Carmel forest fire. When his region isn’t facing terror attacks or natural disasters, Geller is busy directing his team of paramedics to respond with speed and skill to the routine emergencies that occur on a daily basis: heart attacks, car accidents, women in labor, and more.

The Stanley and Vera Marshall Lecture is an annual program that has brought respected scholars from many fields to Temple Sinai. The program reflects Stanley’s and Vera’s love of learning and usually takes place near Vera’s Yahrzeit. We thank the Marshall family for their continued support.

Erev Shabbat B'Simcha Service with Guest Speaker Eliza Kanner of CJP and 5th Grade on Friday, November 3 at 7:30 PM

Join us as we welcome Eliza Kanner of CJP and our 5th graders help lead services.

Eliza Kanner of Combined Jewish Philanthropies has worked extensively to fight antisemitism and counter-Israel rhetoric, primarily on college campuses across North America.  With a background in Israel education, she worked from StandWithUs as a campus educator, and has met with international leaders at the United Nations to speak on the dangers of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement.  Eliza is starting her third season as a New England Patriots Cheerleader and uses her platform to support the Jewish Community, and advocates for young people to be proud of their Jewish identity.  She has enjoyed working on the Strategy & Impact and Development teams at CJP, allowing her to grow as a non-profit professional.
