"Our vision for Temple Sinai Religious School is to be a community where students can foster a Jewish identity through connections with God and Torah and pride in their Jewish heritage."  from the Religious School Vision Statement

Religious School

Temple Sinai's Religious School offers creative workshops, music, family education programs, holiday celebrations, services and many other activities to supplement our Judaic and Hebrew school curriculum. We are proud to have recently been awarded accreditation from the National Assocation of Temple Educators (NATE), the professional organization of Jewish Educators of the Reform Movement.

Our Family Education programs enable parents to study and participate in projects together with their children. Each program usually consists of an initial study period with either the Rabbi or Director of Education, and might be followed by singing, holiday craft activites, or a social action project.

Family Services geared toward families with children enable students to enjoy a more leisurely spiritual atmosphere appealing to all family members.

Our Pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvah Experience Series offers workshops to help prepare and guide families through the process of becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

B'nai TELEM, a community service and Jewish learning initiative, is an exciting new program in our b’nai mitzvah program! The program includes six sessions of off-site community service and six sessions of classroom-based learning and reflection thematically connected to the service experience. Students have the opportunity to participate in different volunteer settings throughout the year and to study concepts associated with tikkun olam.

Our congregation will be able to award incentive grants to as many as twenty families, made possible through a generous grant from CJP’s Commission of Jewish Continuity & Education.
